Precision manufacturing of metal mirrors
Mirrors on metal substrates can be used when production on conventional glass and ceramic substrates is not worthwhile for small quantities or complex substrate geometries. By finishing on an ultra-precision turning machine, a highly reflective surface with a surface roughness of Ra <10 nm can be realized. For this purpose, Filtrop cooperates with a renowned research institute.
Application
- Deflection mirror in research and development
- IR mirror
- Beam guiding in laser or measurement technology
- Mirrors for the semiconductor industry
- Measurement and laser technology
- Medical technology
- Space technology
- Mirrors in telescopes
- Spectroscopy
Properties
- Materials: Aluminum alloys, copper, brass and plastics can be machined directly with diamond tools. For the machining of steel alloys (e.g. STAVAX), Invar or selected types of glass, ultrasonic-assisted diamond turning is used.
- Sizes: maximum workpiece diameter Ø350 mm, maximum workpiece weight 50 kg. We will be happy to provide you with a quote for your desired size.
- Flatness: <0.1 µm at Ø100 mm
- Parallelism: <1 arc minute
- Surface finish: in the range of Ra <5 nm
Flat mirrors as well as spherical or aspherical mirrors are possible, furthermore also free-form surfaces. Please contact us for a non-binding clarification.
